يقدم لنا الكاتب فرات العاني، الذي وُلد في باريس لأبوين عراقيين، في روايته "أتذكر الفلوجة" رحلة أدبية مميزة تأخذنا إلى عوالمه الفريدة. يجسد العاني من خلال هذا العمل الأدبي تفاعلاته مع تاريخ بلاده وأصوله، مما يجعل الرواية تحمل بين طياتها لحظات مميزة ومؤثرة. وقد توّجت رواية "أتذكر الفلوجة" بجائزة الأدب العربي من "معهد العالم العربي" في باريس لعام 2023.

“Somewhere between coloured and white”: ambivalence and loss of bearings in Caryl Phillips’ «A View of the Empire at Sunset»
[Fiche] In ((A View of the Empire at Sunset)), Caryl Phillips proposes a fictionalised version of the life of novelist Jean Rhys – a Creole woman from Dominica expatriated in Europe – as a mirror image of the decline and dissolution of the British colonial Empire over the course of the 20th century. By depicting the protagonist’s struggle to find a sense of belonging, the novel highlights how colonial subjects may be confronted to a feeling of identity ambivalence and a loss of bearings.

[Article] Der Standort Ilulissat mit seinem Gletscher, der in einem tief eingeschnittenen Fjord nach vorn dringt, bietet einen bevorzugten Beobachtungsposten für den Klimawandel. Er ist daneben eine wichtige archäologische Stätte für die Kultur der Inuit sowie ein von der Unesco als Weltnaturerbe eingestuftes Touristenziel. Diese Heritageifizierung wirft mehrere Fragen auf: insbesondere zur Unterscheidung von natürlichem und kulturellem Erbe und zu den potenziell negativen Auswirkungen des Tourismus auf den Schutz des Standorts.

[Conférence] Cette page propose trois interventions sur le genre du "Refugee writing". Vanessa Guignery présente tout d'abord les modalités et définitions de ce genre, puis Jaine Chemmachery analyse les formes littéraires et intermédiales des ((Refugee Tales)), inspirées des ((Canterbury Tales)) de Chaucer, et du projet "28 for 28". Enfin, Cédric Courtois se penche sur la forme de la nouvelle, qui a pu être qualifiée de "mineure" et que les autrices de son corpus ont choisie pour rendre compte d’expériences vécues par des personnes vulnérables et marginalisées.

L’intervention présente le parcours politique du mouvement et journal ((il manifesto)), fondé en 1969 en Italie par un groupe de militants communistes radiés du PCI. Les fondateurs souhaitaient alors se positionner entre d’une part la longue et riche tradition dont ils sont issus, celle du Parti communiste italien, et d’autre part les nouveautés qui ont émergé avec les luttes étudiantes de 1968 et les luttes ouvrières de 1969 (dit "autunno caldo"). Comment ((il Manifesto)) essaye-t-il d’incarner, d’un point de vue théorique et pratique, un pont entre ces deux cultures politiques tout au long des années 1970 ? Cette intervention est le résultat du travail mené dans le cadre d'un doctorat de recherche. Elle a été présentée le 20 décembre 2023 dans le cadre du Séminaire d'Etudes Italiennes (ENS de Lyon-Lyon 3).

[Conférence] À travers trois réalisations de l'architecte américain Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959), Céline Bonicco-Donato analyse la manière dont celui-ci s'est inspiré de plusieurs courants de la philosophie américaine (notamment le transcendantalisme de Ralph Waldo Emerson et le pragmatisme de John Dewey) afin de développer sa propre philosophie architecturale et urbaine, travaillée par deux grands principes : "l'intérieur est un dehors, l'extérieur est un dedans" et "la partie est à la partie ce que la partie est au tout".

[Article] Das Bild von Anlegesteg und Kirchturm der Gemeinde Les Anses d'Arlet erscheint oft in den Werbetexten für Martinique, in denen ein weltentrückter, zeitloser Ort angepriesen wird. In Wirklichkeit jedoch, ganz im Gegensatz zu diesem Bild des Stillstands, vermag eine Reihe von Fotos aus den Jahren 2008 bis 2019 den schnellen Ausbau der touristischen Nutzung dieses Orts aufzuzeigen. Die Postkarte des Orts ist eine aufschlussreiche Erscheinung dieser touristischen Nutzung.

إميل حبيبي الباقي في حيفا - Revue littéraire
تتناول هذه الورقة ﺧﺼﻮﺻﻴﺔ اﻟﺘﺠﺮﺑﺔ اﻟﺮواﺋﻴﺔ للأديب الفلسطيني إميل حبيبي الذي يُعتبر من أبرز الروائيين الفلسطينيين والعرب بحيث مثل تيارا أساسيا في الرواية العربية المعاصرة، وأسس رؤية روائية حديثة من خلال تهجين الشكل الروائي الأوروبي بعناصر سردية مستثمرة الموروث الثقافي العربي. شكل إميل حبيبي حالة نضالية من أجل وطنه فلسطين من خلال كتاباته كمخزون ثقافي يقاوم الاندثار ويحافظ على هوية وطنه الذي تشبث بالبقاء فيه، فقال : " وأنا أحلم أن من يريد أن يراجع حيفا، أو عكا، أو حتى يافا، قبل عام 1948، يستطيع أن يعتمد على كتاباتي. مرة أخرى أقول لكم: هذا أستطيعه أنا بفضل أنني بقيت، وبعد عمر طويل تركت من ورائي وصية أن يكتب على قبري فقط جملة واحدة: "باق في حيفا"، وأن أدفن في حيفا."
Images of Erudite Femininity: Capturing the learned/knowledgeable woman in 19th-century visual arts (part 2: Pre-Raphaelite artists' female perspective)
[Fiche] Pre-Raphaelite women artists assimilated the type of the erudite woman that had been forged by their male counterparts: they complied with the canon, yet slightly shifted it by softening the usual rejection of the learned woman and emphasising the idea of freedom linked to the possession of knowledge. From the (twin) figures of the governess and the Angel in the House (two forms of possession of knowledge deemed acceptable for women by Victorian society) to the image of the sorceress (the embodiment of Evil), by way of the representation or lack of representation of the professional scholar woman, we shall endeavour to embrace the different types of knowledgeable women created by women artists in 19th-century British art.

Die Erhöhung der Mobilität wurde auch durch eine Verbesserung der öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel gefördert, aber nicht überall. Das Beispiel Belo Horizonte veranschaulicht den Extremfall einer großen Metropole, wo das Auto herrscht. Der Artikel zeigt dann die Ungleichheiten zwischen den Gesellschaftsschichten im Zugang zur Mobilität, und zwar im Bereich der Randzonen dieses Ballungsgebiets.

[Article] In Bolivien sind in vielen Haushalten, auch des Mittelstands, weibliche Hausangestellte im Einsatz. Als Frauen aus dem ländlichen Arbeitermilieu, und oft indigener Herkunft, befinden sie sich an der Schnittstelle mehrerer Herrschaftsformen. Ihre Arbeitsbedingungen sind oft sehr schwierig und ihre Bewegungsfreiheit eingeschränkt. Der Aufsatz zeigt, dass sie trotzdem Zugang zu Formen der Mobilität in mehreren räumlichen und zeitlichen Skalen haben.

[Fiche] Very few representations of female knowledge can be found in Pre-Raphaelite paintings without them being imbued with a threatening dimension. Female knowledge is necessarily associated with the representation of a domesticated woman, echoing the recommendations of the time defined, for example, by John Ruskin in ((Sesame and Lilies)). On the contrary, the aim of the pictures of learned women was to send a warning against the deadly potential of woman's unwonted curiosity through the use of mythological figures, such as Pandora, Psyche or Cassandra, ultimately leading to the lurking image of the castrating prophetess or sorceress.
A voice and a place of one’s own: women, knowledge and empowerment in Charlotte Brontë’s «Jane Eyre»
[Article] The article deals with women and knowledge in Charlotte Brontë’s ((Jane Eyre)) (1847). The novel was quite revolutionary in its time for its strong assertion of female agency and self-empowerment and a keen perception of power dynamics inherent in the definition of gender and gender roles. However considering ((Jane Eyre)) through the sole prism of a novel of emancipation only dealing with women’s rights and aspirations would be reductive. ((Jane Eyre))’s fiery narrative is a strong plea against all forms of intersectional oppression in Victorian times despite its own unconscious bias relative to ethnicity and the colonial question notably.

[Article] This article provides an overview of the different ways in which women were educated in the Victorian period, from home-schooling to private day-schools and boarding schools. While the campaign for educational reform was seen, within the context of the Industrial Revolution and the growing feminist movement, as a key to freedom, improvements in female education were also met with resistance.
