King Charles leads memorial service at Cenotaph for Remembrance Day

King Charles has led the National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in central London.

The service honours the contribution of military and civilian servicemen and women in World Wars One and Two, and other conflicts.

Thousands of veterans, army personnel and members of the public in the capital joined the rest of the UK in a two-minute silence at 11:00 GMT.

Armistice Day: What is the history behind the Remembrance commemoration?

Armistice Day is observed in Britain every 11 November to mark the agreement signed between the Allies and Germany that brought an end to the First World War and to remember the soldiers who gave their lives during that savage conflict, as well as those killed in subsequent wars defending democratic freedoms.

Australians mark 105th Remembrance Day with services honouring the fallen

Australians around the country gathered on Saturday, and observed a minute's silence at 11am, to commemorate Remembrance Day — honouring those who died serving in conflicts and peace-keeping operations.

This year's Remembrance Day marked the 105-year anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I in 1918.

Thousands gather across B.C. for Remembrance Day ceremonies

Thousands of people across British Columbia took part in Remembrance Day ceremonies on Saturday. 

In Vancouver, several events, including the 99th annual Remembrance Day ceremony at Victory Square, were held to honour those who served.
