The year was 1987...and 2017.
Former President Ronald Reagan delivered his famous “Tear Down This Wall” speech in Berlin 30 years ago. At the time, it wasn’t necessarily big news. Some even dismissed it as overblown, a bit of rhetorical showboating. In retrospect, though, it ended up encapsulating Reagan’s much-vaunted challenge to the “Evil Empire”—the Soviet Union.

This week, the media divide was illustrated by the starkly different reactions from liberal and conservative commentators to President Trump's address to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday. Right-leaning pundits thought Trump hit a nationalist home run by condemning an ineffectual U.N. and pledging to defend U.S. national security. Left-leaning commentators, on the other hand, saw an unhinged madman willing to start a nuclear war.

North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho said Wednesday US President Donald Trump's threat to destroy the hermit kingdom sounded like "a dog barking."
"If he was thinking he could scare us with the sound of a dog barking, that's really a dog dream," Ri, who is in New York for the United Nations General Assembly, told reporters in front of his hotel in New York.
