Fate
Biden on potential 2020 presidential bid: "Fate has a strange way of intervening”
Associated Press (CBS News, 05/12/2016)
Associated Press (CBS News, 05/12/2016)
It’s more than a month before Donald Trump even enters the White House, but Joe Biden says he’s running for president in 2020.
Maybe.
“I’m going to run in 2020. For president. So, uh, what the hell, man,” the departing vice president told reporters Monday with only a slight smile on his face. Given a chance to walk it back, he did - but only a bit.
Asked if he was joking, he said: “I’m not committing not to run. I’m not committing to anything. I learned a long time ago, fate has a strange way of intervening.”

Watch Joe Biden’s Emotional Return To The Senate
Marina Fang (The Huffington Post, 05/12/2016)
Vice President Joe Biden made an emotional return to the U.S. Senate on Monday when it voted to rename part of a major piece of legislation for his late son, Beau.
As president of the Senate, Biden presided over the vote on the 21st Century Cures Act, a massive bill that will increase funding for health research. A portion of the bill allocates $1.8 billion toward Biden’s “cancer moonshot” initiative, which he made a priority after Beau died of brain cancer last year.
As a gesture to Biden, their former Senate colleague, Senate leaders dedicated the provision to Beau
