Prince Harry Kicks Off 2017 Invictus Games Countdown In Toronto

Prince Harry joined Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for a private meeting prior to kicking off the official countdown to the 2017 Invictus Games on Monday.
Following their meeting, the pair were joined by Premier Kathleen Wynne, Toronto Mayor John Tory and members of the Canadian Invictus Team at the Fairmont Royal York for the official launch event. The Games are a sporting event for military personnel, and for the first time, will be hosted in the city next year.
During the event, the prince said he's been assured the 2017 games will be bigger than ever before. He went on to say the Toronto games will feature more sports and more competitors. Wynne's sentiments backed up those of the Prince, as she noted the province is committing $10 million dollars in support of the Games over the course of two years.

Prince Harry has launched the 2017 Invictus Games in Canada and urged the nation to embrace the sporting spectacle and salute those who have served their country.
Harry said he was proud to be part of the event's "unconquerable spirit of determination" first expressed by competitors during the inaugural Games staged in London.
He is gearing up for the follow-up Invictus which will be held in Orlando, Florida, next week but flew to Canada to help kick-off the third Games which will be hosted by Toronto in 2017.

Prince Harry has been praised by the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, for his leadership of an “extraordinary initiative” as the two men launched the third Invictus Games for wounded service personnel.
Just days before this year’s Invictus event begins in Florida, Prince Harry was in Toronto to promote the third Games, which will be held in the Canadian city next year.
The prince and politician greeted each other warmly when they met at the exclusive Fairmont Royal York hotel in Toronto which is hosting the launch ceremony for the games.

A round of good-natured Twitter trash talk has erupted among the head of the British royal family and the leaders of the United States and Canada. And the Internet appears to be charmed by the tit-for-tat videos by Queen Elizabeth II, President Obama and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada. It was all part of an effort to promote the 2016 Invictus Games.
The choreographed challenges began last Friday, when Mr. Obama and his wife, Michelle, tweeted a short video at Prince Harry. It showed them standing with their arms crossed over their chests in front of a line of three uniformed officers, looking as if they had a bone to pick with the royal family.
