At least two people shot on Florida State University campus

At least two people were shot when a gunman opened fire at Florida State University, campus police and hospital officials confirmed to the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday night.
No other information was released.
People identifying themselves as students said they heard gunshots near the library.
The university issued an emergency alert to students and said there was a "dangerous situation" on the main campus and to seek shelter immediately.

The shots, which are reported to have come from Strozier Library, started shortly before 1 a.m. ET, three freshmen who were in the DeGraff Hall dormitory at the time said.
They began getting reports from friends locked down in the library, they said.
"We know there are definitely people who saw the shooter," said Anthony Coons.
His friend Max Martin described the surreal scene. "You hear all these stories on the news then it happens," Martin said. "This is something you never want to happen."

There has been a shooting on the campus of Florida State University in Tallahassee.
“*FSU ALERT!* Dangerous Situation! Main Campus – Tallahassee,” read a message posted by FSU’s emergency alert system. “Seek shelter immediately, away from doors and windows.”
The school’s newspaper, FS View, reported a gunman opened fire around 12:30 a.m. at Strozier Library, firing four shots. Two people were admitted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
Mary Coburn, vice president of student affairs, announced the alleged gunman was shot and killed by FSU police.

Two people shot at Florida State University library, gunman reported killed

At least two people were shot in a library on the campus of Florida State University early Thursday by a gunman who reportedly was killed by campus police.
FSUNews.com reported that the shooting occurred at around 12:30 a.m. local time on the first floor of the Strozier Library, a multistory building at the center of the campus. The site reported that at least four gunshots were heard and approximately 30 police officers responded to the scene.
Mary Coburn, Florida State's vice president of student affairs, told the site that the gunman had been killed by university police. However, that was not immediately confirmed by authorities.
A nursing supervisor at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare told the Associated Press that the hospital was treating two people for gunshot wounds early Thursday. The supervisor did not disclose the patients' conditions or whether they were students. Hospital officials had no information about whether they could expect more patients.
