Harry and Meghan seek global trademark for 'Sussex Royal' brand

Ben Quinn (The Guardian, 12/01/2020)

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are seeking to register the “Sussex Royal” brand as a global trademark for a range of items and activities including clothing, stationery and the running of “emotional support groups”, international filings suggest.

The application covering Australia, Canada, the EU and US was filed in December with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in the name of their new foundation, according to details online.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal Flush

Rebecca Mead (The New Yorker, 10/01/2020)

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been clear about their unhappiness with the constraints of their roles—traditional, familial, media-related—since their romance was first made public.

Queen Elizabeth has yet to give the couple her blessing, CNN understands. Still, in a statement that the couple released on their Instagram, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex assured the world they would continue "to honor our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages."

It's not a real f**king job anyway, says Harry

(The Daily Mash, 09/01/2020)

Prince Harry has explained that it does not matter that he is stepping back as a senior Royal because it is not a real f**king job in any sense.

The Duke of Sussex, which is also not a real job, told Britain that it will not even notice his departure because whether anyone is performing his role or not makes absolutely no difference.
