Women will work the rest of the year for free, say equal pay campaigners
Tim Ross
"A joint report from the Fawcett Society, the TUC, Unison and the Equality and Human Rights Commission called for a complete overhaul of equal pay laws to ensure that women receive a fair deal.
"The groups suggested that more senior positions in business should be filled on a job-share basis to support talented women who want to raise children.
"And employment tribunals should have the power to levy tougher sanctions against employers in cases when women have been paid less because of their gender, the report said."
