U.N. to Move Staff From Afghanistan
Alissa J. Rubin
"KABUL, Afghanistan The United Nations office in Afghanistan has decided to send about 600 of its foreign staff members out of the country in the wake of an attack last week on one of its guesthouses while more secure housing is found, a spokesman said Thursday.
"The hope is that they will be able to return within three weeks to a month, but it could take longer to set up secure housing, said Adrian Edwards, a spokesman for the United Nations mission in Afghanistan. The staff members will be relocated primarily to Dubai and Central Asian countries."
