Royal wedding could disrupt exam build-up, teachers warn
"They fear the extra bank holiday on April 29 could have "a real impact" on preparations for the key stage two tests, taken by pupils in their final year of primary school in England on May 9.
"The summer term in many schools starts on April 27, meaning children will be back in their classrooms for just two days before they are off again for a four-day weekend.
"There are also concerns that the glut of bank holidays will disrupt students' preparation for A-levels and GCSEs. Russell Hobby, general secretary of the National Association of Head Teachers, said: "It's a critical point in the school calendar, just before exam time when building up momentum is critical."
