The move comes despite employees being each handed 725 free shares, with an initial market value of £3,545.25, as part of the firm’s privatisation.The Communication Workers Union balloted more than 114,000 staff, with 56,339 – 78 per cent of those voting – backing a strike as the row over privatisation rumbles on.
CWU deputy general secretary Dave Ward said: “Postal workers have spoken very clearly that they care about their jobs, terms and conditions far more than they care about shares.”
