President calls for South Africa to pray for Nelson Mandela

Mr Mandela, 94, has suffered repeated bouts of illness in recent months due to a recurring lung infection and his health worsened over the weekend.
President Zuma spoke affectionately of him as a mood of sombre resignation swept across the country.
Calling him by his tribal name of Madiba Mr Zuma’s own mood switched from prayers for his recovery to preparations for a fond farewell.
He said: “Madiba is critical in the hospital. This is the father of democracy. This is the man who fought and sacrificed his life to stay in prison, the longest-serving prisoner in South Africa.
