"One village primary school is closing every month in England as young families are priced out of the area because of the rising costs of housing, campaign organisations have claimed.
"The National Housing Federation (NHF) warned that the lack of affordable housing in rural communities because of a rise of second-home owners and commuters is driving thousands of young families to urban areas. It said that the problem was now so great that 200 small primary schools in rural England could close over the next five years as local councils face spending cuts."
