Ofqual: exam seminars to be axed after Telegraph probe

Up to 4,000 courses a year will be axed after Ofqual, the qualifications watchdog, concluded that the practice posed “unacceptable risks” to the integrity of the exams system.
In a damning report, it claimed that some teachers attending the sessions with examiners expected to “receive privileged information” relating to certain GCSE and A-level qualifications.
The seminars – normally costing between £100 and £200 per teacher – also led to a “narrowing of teaching and learning” by urging staff to focus exclusively on a named course specification, it was revealed.
