Public school runaways Edward Bunyan and Indira Gainiyeva bolted from their five-star hotel and moved into a run-down apartment when they realised police in the Dominican Republic were looking for them, it has emerged after they were found safe and well.The teenagers stayed at a luxury resort in Punta Cana from Tuesday last week until Friday, when they read reports on the internet of the international police search and switched to a backpackers’ retreat costing just £73 per week.
They are preparing to return home to face the music escorted by Edward’s mother Susannah after police finally caught up with them almost a week after they eloped from Stonyhurst College in Clitheroe, Lancs.
