Fathers encouraged to take time off with 10-month paternity leave
Tim Ross and James Kirkup
"Nick Clegg, the Deputy Prime Minister, will outline proposals intended to encourage more fathers to take parental leave, arguing that the current Edwardian rules patronise women and marginalise men.
"Mothers and fathers could be able to take up to five months off work together while men may receive an extra allowance on a use it or lose it basis as an incentive, under the plan.
"Parenting experts welcomed the proposals but business groups warned they could seriously damage small firms."
