More than 62,000 Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Ireland, says CSO

A total of 62,425 refugees arrived in Ireland after fleeing the Russian invasion of Ukraine by November 6, latest figures from the Central Statistic Office (CSO) show.

More than 1,100 refugees arrived in Ireland from the war-torn country in the week before that date.

Over 600 Ukrainian refugees to be housed in Drumcondra seminary as early as next month

Clonliffe College Seminary in Drumcondra will begin to house in excess of 600 refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine as early as next month, Dublin Live has learned.

The building, which is also known as Holy Cross College, has not operated as a school for priests since 2000 and is undergoing extensive works, understood to be as much as €2 million. Dublin's Catholic Archdiocese offered the seminary to those fleeing Russia's war in Ukraine in April.

More than 62,000 Ukrainians in Ireland as 'extraordinary' response praised

There are more than 62,000 Ukrainian nationals living in Ireland, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

The figure is based on 62,425 personal public service numbers (PPSNs) issued to Ukrainian nationals from the temporary protection directive.

Most Ukrainians believe lack of English skills an obstacle to employment – study

More than one-third of Ukrainians arriving in Ireland have attended employment support events but most believe a lack of English language proficiency is an impediment to finding work, a study has found.

Some 62,425 Personal Public Service (PPS) numbers have been issued to people arriving from Ukraine under the Temporary Protection Directive as of November 6th.
