Melania Mystery Continues: First Lady Won’t Accompany President To G7 Or Singapore

First lady Melania Trump hasn’t attended a public event for nearly a month, and now her  spokeswoman has told ABC News Sunday that she won’t be accompanying the president to the G7 meeting in Quebec — nor the planned North Korea summit in Singapore.

No reason was given.

But spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham also told CNN Sunday evening that the first lady is expected to attend a White House event Monday honoring Gold Star military families. The reception, however, will be barred to the press.

Melania Trump, last seen May 10, won't attend G7 or Singapore summits

First lady Melania Trump won't join the president for the Group of Seven Summit in Canada this week or a planned North Korea meeting in Singapore on June 12, her spokeswoman told NBC News on Sunday.

Mrs. Trump, 48, hasn't made a public appearance since May 10 — four days before she underwent what her office described in a statement as an embolization procedure for a "benign kidney condition."

She is expected to appear at a reception Monday for Gold Star families; the event is closed to the media.

Adding the finishing touches of two earrings made of twisted paper clips and a mop head hastily colored brown with magic marker, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump spent several hours constructing a life-sized fake Melania Trump for their lonely father to spend time with, White House sources confirmed Friday. “There, that’s perfect—Dad’s gonna be so happy to have this new Mommy to be married to until our old Mommy comes back,” said Eric Trump, drawing his best approximation of Melania Trump’s facial features on a paper plate while his brother stapled a floor-length Dior evening gown to a stack of throw pillows roughly the height of the absent first lady.
