Trump Reportedly To End DACA With 6-Month Delay
Elise Foley (The Huffington Post, 03/09/2017)
President Donald Trump plans to end an Obama-era program that protects young undocumented immigrants from deportation, according to multiple reports. But the decision wouldn’t take effect for six months, raising the prospect that Trump could change his mind or Congress could work on a legislative solution ― and prolonging uncertainty for hundreds of thousands of people protected by the program.
On Sunday, Politico and Reuters reported that Trump plans to eventually terminate the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which grants work permits and protections for so-called Dreamers, or undocumented young people brought to the U.S. as children.

Trump is expected to phase out DACA program, although decision is not finalized
Philip Rucker, Karoun Demirjian and Maria Sacchetti (The Washington Post, 04/09/2017)
President Trump is expected to phase out the Obama-era program that grants work permits to about 800,000 undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children, but delay its end for six months to give Congress time to pass legislation to replace it, according to multiple people briefed on the president’s discussions.
Trump’s plan remains fluid and could change, however, and administration officials stressed Sunday evening that the president has not finalized his decision. The White House has scheduled an announcement for Tuesday.

After first indicating he would act on DACA last week, then changing his story more than once, Trump has essentially turned nearly 800,000 young people who are desperately awaiting a decision on their fate into contestants on his dysfunctional reality show.

US President Donald Trump has decided to scrap a programme that protects young undocumented immigrants, according to reports.
He will give Congress six months to draw up legislation to replace the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (Daca), sources quoted by US media say.
The decision, first reported in Politico, is considered a compromise amid strong support for the scheme.
