National Theatre to broadcast shows online on Thursdays

Thursday night could become National Theatre night, as the company announced plans to broadcast some of its most popular productions for free during the lockdown.
The new two-month National Theatre at Home programme will begin with One Man, Two Guvnors, the Richard Bean comedy starring James Corden.
The films will be shown at 7pm every Thursday to try to recreate, where possible, the communal viewing experience. They will then be available on demand for seven days.

National Theatre Live productions will soon be available to watch for free on YouTube under plans for a new digital service from the National Theatre.
Created in the days since theatres across the UK, including the NT, closed down to fight the spread of coronavirus, National Theatre at Home will stream productions into audience’s homes, in addition to making the theatre’s education collection available remotely while schools are closed.
The service’s main offering will see one NT Live production made available online each week, via the organisation’s YouTube channel.

National Theatre to remain closed until 30 June

The National Theatre will now remain closed until 30 June, the venue has announced today.
Though the Society of London Theatres has stated that theatres will definitely remain closed until 26 April (with further updates pending), the National has confirmed that the venue will remain shut until the end of June.
In an email the venue said: "Hopefully, you care as much about the National Theatre as we do: it is a hub of creativity, a place where ideas are born, nurtured and shared.
