When CNN fired prime-time star Chris Cuomo on Saturday, the network cited new information casting a fresh and harsh light on his efforts to aid his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, in combating sexual harassment allegations.
Yet CNN's actions came just a day after a prominent Washington, D.C., workplace attorney arranged to share materials supporting accusations by a former colleague of Cuomo at ABC News that he had sexually harassed her there.
"My client came forward at this time because she felt in sharing her story and related documentation, she could help protect other women," Debra Katz said in a statement on Sunday. She added that the woman wished to remain anonymous.

Anchor Chris Cuomo has denied a sexual misconduct allegation made against him after CNN fired him on Saturday for helping to defend his brother, Andrew Cuomo, in the then-governor’s own sexual misconduct investigation.
The sexual misconduct allegation against Chris Cuomo, one of the network’s prime time anchors before his firing, came after he was the subject of a separate investigation by the New York attorney general, who concluded that the younger Cuomo brother helped the governor defend himself against an increasing number of sexual misconduct allegations. The allegation against Cuomo was first reported by The New York Times.

Chris Cuomo’s business is media. Andrew Cuomo’s business is politics. The line between them is clear, except when it isn’t. “I’m trying to help my brother,” Cuomo told investigators working for the New York attorney general’s office during a six-hour deposition in July, a transcript of which was made public on Monday. “But I’m not part of his team.” Confronted with texts and e-mails showing that he was in regular contact with his brother, his brother’s aides, and his brother’s outside advisers, as they scrambled last winter to respond to allegations of sexual harassment, and that he regularly passed along tips, served as a sounding board, and advised on media strategy, Cuomo, the host of “Cuomo Prime Time,” on CNN, did his best to shrug it off. “There is no division between politics and media,” he said. “We all know each other.”
