As it issued yet more flood warnings on Wednesday, the Environment Agency said that reservoirs were full and there should be no need to restrict water supplies in 2013, regardless of the weather.Heavy rain is forecast in many areas on Thursday, and is expected to fall continually for 48 hours over Scotland and the South West, with more than two inches in places. The downpour will ease during Friday but will return over the weekend. Christmas Day and Boxing Day are also forecast to be washouts.
The Agency has issued flood warnings for East Anglia, south and south-western England, south-east Wales and the Midlands.
