Her income from the taxpayer will rise to £38 million on the back of a deal linking financial support to the Royal Household to the profits of the Crown Estate property portfolio, which is nominally owned by the monarch although its profits have gone to the Treasury since 1760.
The Crown Estate on Thursday said it made record profits of £252.6 million in the year to March, thanks to strong overseas interests in its central London properties and growing investment in wind farms, as Britain switches to green energy. It outperformed the wider British economy.
"We are proud that another record Crown Estate performance will again make a strong contribution to the nation's finances," said Chairman Stuart Hampson.
