Lib Dem Vince Cable told to quit after rant at ‘ugly and nasty’ Tories

The Business Secretary denounced his Coalition Government partners as “nasty” and “ugly” – and scorned their drive to control immigration.
He also accused Euro-sceptic Cabinet ministers of damaging British business by raising the prospect of the UK quitting the European Union.
Mr Cable’s speech to the Lib Dem conference in Glasgow delighted the party’s Left-leaning activists. But Tory MPs urged him to quit as a minister if he could not stomach sitting with Conservatives at the Cabinet table.
Mr Cable made clear that he was working with the Tories only because the country had faced a “national emergency” in the economic crisis.
