Christmas post late for thousands

"Consumers and businesses across the country have complained that it has taken until this week before they received Christmas cards from their relatives and correspondence from clients or customers.
"The Forum of Private Business said it had been contacted by many of its members complaining about slow deliveries.
"Robert Hammond, head of post at Consumer Focus, the official watchdog, said: "We believe that thousands of people across the country are still experiencing delays to their post, even in areas where the snow and freezing weather has long since passed. Consumers are suffering as everything from Christmas presents, to bank cards and bills trickle through weeks after they were sent. This backlog of post should be well in hand by now."
