Barack Obama support a bit shaky in Illinois

"Though Illinoisans displayed a measure of pride when Barack Obama was elected to the presidency almost a year ago, rising unemployment and his push for a controversial health-care reform package have left fewer than six in 10 voters in his home state approving of the job he has done in the White House, a new Tribune/WGN poll found. "The survey of 700 registered voters in Illinois showed 59 percent approved of the job the Democratic president has done in his nearly eight months in the Oval Office, while one-third disapproved. Eight percent had no opinion in the poll, which has an error margin of 4 percentage points. "On its face, a near-60 percent job approval rating would be welcomed by just about any politician -- but the poll indicated several troubling signs for Obama."
