  • David Amigoni is a specialist of Victorian literature and culture. He has worked on biography and the impact of life writing on Victorian culture: he has written Victorian Biography: Intellectuals and the Ordering of Discourse (1993) and edited Life Writing and Victorian Culture (2006). He's also particularly interested in the writings of evolutionary scientists like Charles Darwin and Alfred Wallace: he has co-edited  Charles Darwin's Origin of Species: New Interdisciplinary Essays (1995) and is the author of Colonies, Cults and Evolution: Literature, Science and the Culture Concept in Nineteenth-Century Writing (2007). He's also the editor of the Journal of Victorian Culture.
