- Le 17 janvier 2018, la Villa Gillet a permis à 9 classes de lycée de rencontrer les auteurs Paul Auster et Siri Hustvedt. Les questions portaient principalement sur les nombreux écrits de Siri Hustvedt ainsi que le dernier roman de Paul Auster, 4, 3, 2, 1.

Scorsese presents Goodfellas (1990)

- Lorsqu’il découvre le roman Wiseguy de Nicholas Pileggi, Scorsese est séduit. Mais il veut arrêter les films de gangsters. Il en a déjà fait beaucoup. C’est Michael Powell qui le fait changer d’avis : le scénario est drôle et finalement, personne n’a montré à l’écran comment vivent ces truands. Les Affranchis est une sorte de plongée anthropologique documentaire dans le quotidien des malfrats expédiant leurs affaires courantes : boulot, amitié, déjeuners chez leurs mères, sorties au Copacabana, femmes, enfants… A l'occasion de la cérémonie de clôture du Festival Lumière 2015, Martin Scrosese présente l'un de ses films majeurs, Goodfelllas.

James Frey was one of the guests of the Assises Internationales du Roman, organised by the Villa Gillet and Le Monde in Lyon. He introduced his novel Bright Shiny Morning and told the audience about his perception of Los Angeles and his conception of storytelling.
