"BAGHDAD (AP) Morgue officials in the southern Iraqi city of
Basra have raised to 30 the death toll for a triple bombing that took place there Monday.
"The new toll brings to 114 the number of people killed across Iraq Monday in a devastating series of attacks stretching from Mosul in the far north to Basra in the deepest south.
"The attacks made Monday the deadliest day of the year so far. A medical official in Basra's morgue confirmed Tuesday that 30 had died in the bombings."
